Band uit Glasgow hoewel alleen Joan Sweeney er opgegroeide, de rest komt uit Londen en zelfs Chili. De leden komen uit illustere bands als Rose McDowall Band, The Royal We, Shopping, The Wharves en meer. Een groot deel van de carrière van Current Affairs loopt parallel met DIY queer- and female fronted bands vertegenwoordigd in het Spitehouse Collective en podia als Transmission Gallery en Glasgow Autonomous Space.
